Let’s face it: sometimes we can get in a party rut. We have found a party formula that works for us. We have memorized our script and we perform it perfectly each time. But after a while doing the same old thing day in and day out gets old and boring. We need to do something different to jazz it up! Especially if you find yourself with repeat guests and hostesses or people who have been to a ton of direct sales parties before. They don’t want the same ol’ same ol’. They want something fresh and exciting. So what can you do about that? The answer that I have found to be the most helpful is to offer theme parties. Theme parties are very popular right now. And for good reason! Check out some of the benefits of offering theme parties to your hostesses and guests: 1. They help you to keep your home parties from becoming boring and repetitive. 2. People get more excited about theme parties. Wouldn’t you? 3. They offer your hostess more control over what the party will be like, which can generate excitement in her. 4. They’re fun! Isn’t that what a party is all about? Here are some great ideas for theme parties that you can take and make your own. 1. Pool Party. Is it spring or summer? Too nice out to be stuck indoors? Take the party poolside! Encourage guests to wear their swimsuits and take a dip. 2. Cheese & Wine Party. Who doesn’t enjoy a bit of sophistication? Your hostess can serve some nice wine and cheese while your guests are regaled by your presentation. 3. Brunch. Get together for a nice brunch. Make it into a potluck where everyone brings a simple dish to share. 4. Sundae Bar. Have everyone build their own sundae. Your hostess provides the ice cream. You and the guests bring toppings. 5. Recipe Exchange. Everyone can come together and bring their favorite recipes to share. You could even make the recipes into a theme by requesting crockpot recipes, kid-friendly recipes, 30 minute recipes, dessert recipes, healthy recipes, etc. 6. Sports. Who says that only men enjoy sports? Get the girls together for a sports-themed party. Have everyone come representing their favorite teams. 7. Garden party. Sometimes a simple change of scenery is enough to liven things up. Have your party in the garden. You could even have people wear their gardening hats. 8. Monthly themes. Find out which months have certain celebrations or festivals and turn that into a theme. For example, did you know that June is strawberry month? You could have everyone bring in their favorite strawberry recipes. 9. Patriots Party. If it is near the 4th of July, have everyone come dressed in red, white, and blue. You could even serve a red, white, & blue dessert (strawberries, whipped cream, and blueberries – oh my!) 10. Crazy Hat Contest. Have your hostess and guests come wearing the craziest hat that they could find or make. The person with the most creative or craziest hat wins. 11. Mom’s Night Party. Have the hostess invite all of her mommy friends for a few hours of kid-free fun. 12. Picnic in the Park. Grab a picnic basket, food, and blankets for a picnic in the park. 13. International Potluck. Have each guest bring a recipe from a different country to share with the other guests. Good eats and fun times! 14. Christmas in July. Who doesn’t love Christmas twice a year? 15. Hawaii Five-O. Luau anyone? Have everyone wear Hawaiian print shirts, provide leis, and serve up Hawaiian pizza. 16. Block Party. Have your hostess invite her neighbors over. Great way to connect with people in the neighborhood. 17. No Girls Allowed. If you traditionally have all women at your party, switch it up! Have a party just for the fellas. Invite the guys over for sports, pizza, and drinks. Let them do their shopping during breaks. You could even offer to wrap up their gifts for them. 18. Happy Hour. Serve up food and drinks and have everyone in and out in an hour. 19. Chocoholics Anonymous. Serve up chocolate refreshments. 20. Quickie Party. Try to get through your party as quickly as possible. You could even set a timer and if you don’t get through the party before it goes off, your guests all get a prize. 21. Couple’s Party. Have your guests bring the significant others to join in on the fun 22. Baby Shower. 23. Bridal Shower. 24. Housewarming Party.
